Flow

FLOW

Synopsis

A human figure steps out of a room in nowhere, and the journey begins. The wind carries them, transforming the figure into a drop of water that falls to the earth. They slip into the soil, rise through the roots of a tree to its stem, and come to rest on a leaf. With the sunrise, the drop becomes dew and soars toward the sun, passing through it to become a particle of light in space—ultimately transforming into a star among countless others in the infinite universe.

Creators’ Statement: Embracing the Eternal

FLOW is a story of passionate love, rendered in its purest form: Absolute love.

It depicts the dissolution of the self into existence and the perception of the beauty and boundlessness of being. This love is for transformation, for becoming both nothing and everything. The film is about flowing into life, embracing being fully, and touching the eternal. This short film is intentionally simple, unadorned, and intimate, offering the viewer a quiet communion with the universe.

Production Insight

At 1 minute and 35 seconds, FLOW is one of our longer shorts, allowing the viewer to be fully immersed in the transformation cycle. The elegance of the hand-drawn, low-tech animation is essential here, providing a visual simplicity that ensures the focus remains on the profound, continuous movement of the figure across all states of matter and existence.
