Synopsis

In the middle of the sea, the captain of an ocean liner issues an irrational command: drop a gigantic anchor! The order is carried out, and an anchor that is absurdly disproportionate to the ship is cast into the water. The result is immediate and clear: the vessel sinks. As the disaster unfolds, the local seagulls, perhaps the only beneficiaries of this foolish decision, rejoice.

Creators’ Statement: The Simplicity of Disaster

This film functions as a dark comedy about making the wrong decisions in the worst possible situations.

In harmony with the nature of the joke about the anchor, the film’s structure is intentionally simple. Our goal was to convey a very straightforward and clear message—that flawed leadership and absurd choices lead to inevitable disaster—but to deliver it in a light and cheerful form. The film aims to be a quick, impactful moment of visual satire.

Production Insight

As with all our work, ANCHOR was brought to life using our signature hand-drawn, low-tech animation style. The simplicity of the visuals emphasizes the absurdity of the central decision, allowing the message to land with immediate clarity.
